Dear Viewer, | Did you know? Cybercriminals are using SMS spoofing to take over your UPI account. |
Here's how fraud is happening... |
 | Attackers send malicious files/links through WhatsApp in the name of a hospital appointment, hotel booking, or courier delivery assistance. |
| | As soon as you click the file/link, an SMS triggers to your bank to start registration. |
| | The attacker then completes the UPI registration process on the malicious device. |
| | Finally, the attacker after taking control of your UPI account uses social engineering tricks to get your MPIN. |
We therefore advise you to take extra caution while opening files/links received through WhatsApp from untrusted accounts. | Stay Alert. Stay Safe.
Warm regards, The IT Home |
